rsh rlogin telnet nfs serviceconf redhat 7.3

Just a reminder. serviceconf run from a root shell is used to manage which services are running.

nfs and smb can be checked to start at boot and can also be started and restarted withing serviceconf
Whenever you vi /etc/exports restart nfs
Whenever you vi /etc/samba/smb.conf

With rsh, rlogin, and telnet xinetd must be running.
After selecting rsh, rlogin, and telnet to start at boot I also wanted to start them without rebooting.

NOTE: many consider rsh rlogin and telnet security issues.
So beware....

So I did
/etc/rc.d/initd/network start
followed by
/etc/rc.d/initd/network stop
I believe that stops and restarts xinetd but I then observed that xinetd can be restarted within serviceconf.
