Kap, <Some people at AMD, were arguing for a plan B, bulk K8 as far back as fall of 1999. It never happened because of lack of resources. Now it looks like they are contemplating it again, but three years too late.> It is pretty amazing that Hammer is now about 2 years late and the SOI process is still not ready. AMD should have known about the SOI process risk a long time back - otherwise they wouldn't have canned Barton SOI. Ramping a new chip on a new process is high risk gamble. The real question is whether a backup plan for K8 was put into at that time. I have my doubts... Chuck
