Check the profits of the war profiteers, vs everyone else in the economy. Please check the profits of every corporation which sells to the US government. I think you'll find they are all doing very nicely, thank you. Everything from computers to chocolate chip cookies. Where I live (Washington, D.C. metro area) we call them "Beltway Bandits." Many ultra lavish homes in Great Falls, VA and Potomac, MD, are owned by Beltway Bandits. Nice gig if you can get it. Washington metro economy is going very strong. I see "help wanted" signs everywhere, and housing prices keep going up, up, up. (11-12% since 9/11/01.) Sure, there's a war on. But if your argument is that the defense contractors started the war, you can't be serious.
