America may be a dream deferred, but it is still a dream and a powerful beloved dream, ...

From a purely practical and economic inventive & innovative side , what put America on everyone's map
and became a global marvel ...

were those mass slaughter~house combine-machine factories that were to emerge out of Chicago created by Armour & a fellow named Swift. Not at any other place in the world could find so large a concentration of workforce , in fact the largest in the world at the time ...and no other time in history had the slaughter of animals become so massive or so efficient.

Or the surrounding slums so amazingly horrible. Pools bubbling up from the ground of water , decaying animal waste and fecal matter would form crusts and fume with carbolic acid , and often people would fall into these and drown
a terrible death.

Foreign businessmen would come and marvel , how a hog could be tied to a giant wheel at one end enetering the "house" , be hoisted up by it's ankle , transversed down and line , and be completely butchered and taken apart and into cold storage in 10mins. Instead of an "assembly line " factory , this was a modern miracle of living animal disassembly-line-factories of mammoth proportions .

Was one of the main reasons Chi-Town became so great ....
