Dear Prolife: Well, this is a he said, she said thing but if you read the whole story, apparently her son heard them too. "oh mom they are just messing with you". In this day and age I think the woman did the right thing EVEN if they were just "MESSING" with her. Who knows who is messing and who is serious?? As to why waitress didnt hear, I doubt they would be THAT stupid to talk openly in front of the waitress, they may not have known this woman could hear them? Anyhow, let them sue her if they think she did them wrong, I suspect they would lose. JDN
