I happen to think the Saudis are probably the most dangerous regime in the Middle East. Not because they are not moderate, but because they are- and they are very afraid of fundamentalism (which threatens the existence of the rich ruling classes). Desperate fearful sane people do the oddest things sometimes. Then there are several other leaders who pose a huge threat. Israel, for example, is a huge problem for us, and could get us in to a heap of trouble- in that sense they are very dangerous for us. Sometimes your friends get you killed quicker than your enemies would. I understand your problem with the French. They aren't on the top of my list, neither is poor little Cuba.
