Wolf's Kid-gloves treatment for Mush
CNN's Wolf Blitzer handled Mush with kid gloves: no blistering attacks, no piercing questions, no ambush, no sniping, no in-your-face frontal attacks. Wolf's monotone, predictable questions (and answers), and customary gentleness were uninteresting. There was no blood and gore. It was a love-in. There was nothing new in this interview. It is the same old recycled questions and the same old recycled, well-rehearsed answers. It appeared the interview’s format, questions, and answers were an unspoken gentlemen’s agreement. It was stale and putrid because it was recycled so many times. Even a hungry hog will not consume it.
Mush says (in Blitzer's words, a phrasal help from the journalist) that his hands are too full to give any support for the US on Saddam and his reason is that he needs the oil and so will not align with the US. That sounds like a cop-out. It is possible that his support will inflame the pakis for selling a fellow muslim down the Tigris (or Euphrates) River. Mush is already up to his gills with internal enemies, enemies on the east etc.
Wolf Blitzer did not touch the coming elections, democracy, Ms.Bhutto, NSA, his multiple titles etc. Mush was let off the hook with a sleight of hand.
Mush’s Pakistan received millions of dollars this time too. The paramour is still in the giving mood.
