JLA, I don't know Raymond (although in what has been discussed on him here recently, he DEFINITELY did not indicate treason).

I HAVE known TP over a couple of years as a contributor to my thread (SGBR). I have PM'd him rarely (that is the way I am), but I know him to be very intelligent--and I would bet a million dollars that he loves America, and that he would never dream of trying to overthrow the Government...outside of his democratic rights and responsibilities. He may HATE the government (and I don't know that), but that is not treason--nor is speaking against it treason. NOR is treason defined by the existence of war.

Silencing of dissension is another matter--and it is always the perogative (if not the Right)of the Government--if they have enough guns.

If someone is trying to overthrow the Government by illegal force rather than free speech...that is one thing. But the honest effort of citizens to make their voice heard is yet another. If America is not strong enough to let her own citizens speak their minds--then she is not strong enough to model human rights and freedoms for the world...
