The Economist 7/19-25 1997 issue mentions Creative Biomolecules, favorably IMO.

Article on page 56 57 is titled Biotechnology in Europe, A bio-bubble? Deals with how few bio tech cos there are in europe, how young and expensive they are as cos that are far from having products.

This is how CBMI comes to be mentioned, Cantab a U.K. firm with no drugs yet approved has a market cap near that of CBMI & Arris both of which "have drugs nearer to the market".

Article provides three reasons for more generous valuations in Europe.
1. Less sophisticated investors.

2. Recent retreat of the green lobby.

3. Governments supporting bio tech indusdy.

Points out only successful industry there thus far is in Britain where no subsidy exist.

Although minor mention of CBMI I think it's important. One must ask that out of all the cos that could be mentioned why CBMI? Yes the cap fits the co it was compared to. I think one must examine the SEC 13 D & F filings to see that something is going on with CBMI in the U.K. This stock is owned if not in defacto control, IMO, by British investors. It is not therefore that unusual for it to be mentioned in a British publication.

I own some CBMI, more today thay on Friday. Like it a lot. So am biased to see things in a favorable light.

Article is worth reading for details and additional insights. While I used hard copy it may be on line at Economist web site.
