As long as you can isolate yourself from the tragedy, you don't care about who or how they get killed.
What a frivolous, ridiculous argument. You obviously have no idea how I feel about things.
We provided weapons to Iraq and Iran. We didn't think it was for skeet shooting. We managed the killing. We didn't attempt any peace initiative. We knew that Sadam was using biological and chemical weapons against the Kurds. And at the time we knew it, we sent more weapons to Iraq and biological material to boot.
You are definitely mis-stating the facts here. US arms manufacturers sold arms to Iran and Iraq, as did arms manufacturers from other countries. For example, German manufacturers sold poison gas technology to Iraq. If that offends you, that's your prerogative.
I am going to assume that your post is one of those late-night-one-too-many rants and that you'll come to your senses after you sleep it off.
If you still want to argue about it, will you try to make a point? Because right now your comments have little relevance to the present day, as far as I can see. The Iran-Iraq war was a long time ago. Why not rant about how we treated the Indians, and slavery, and Hiroshima, while you're at it? Take a look at some of Ray Duray's rants, he's got it down pat.
I think (trying to steer you towards making a point) that what set you off was the debate about whether the US government furnished Saddam with sarin gas. It was a bullshit argument (no factual basis), and you are not improving it so far.
I put the collective "we" in quotes for a reason.
There is no collective "we" when it comes to opinions. I think for myself, and I hope you do, too. |
