Matters can get very confusing, and I have been attempting to clarify some of them, as regards myself and how far I am willing to go with others, lately. It is not that I did not know that there was a limit, but apparently they have difficulty contemplating a limit. As for school, yes, I was the Walking Encyclopedia, Mr. Spock, Braniac, and various other teasing names, and also, for years, a goody two shoes, so I was a particular target of bullies for awhile (ending up big for my age helped). Interestingly, my being on the television quiz program "It's Academic" a few times, playing for my high school team, broke the ice with a lot of people. I finally figured out that to them, I had become a sort of quasi- jock, only one who used his brains instead of brawn, and therefore I made more sense....... |
