UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan is expected to reveal details of the letter which Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri said contained "some good news". Pressure has been mounting throughout the day on Iraq to readmit UN weapons inspectors. US Secretary of State Colin Powell is at UN headquarters in New York trying to get backing for a resolution giving Iraq a deadline. Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has meanwhile confirmed that he has ordered US and allied aircraft patrolling the no-fly zones in the north and south of Iraq to increase damage to Iraqi targets.
