0.1 The internet suffers from bad interface in general.

0.2 It is not necessary to harvest cookies, particularly the persistent kind in order to track permissions of site surfers.

0.3 This can be done with wrappers in Linux servers.

0.4 Most browsers and monitors suffer from inferior visual real estate and are buggy and slow.

0.5 Netscape is slow. Opera, which I use, is fast, but page saves get confusing and when you click on a link, it often does not reload.

0.6 Few have good organization of visited pages and good gridding and resorting of database of pages and email.

0.7 IE's tools are really limiting.

1. In general computers are too noisy, and you cannot access info fast.

2. You cannot have quick turning of pages. Books are much faster.

3. Searching is not prompting and suggestive. This is a blank table compared to an indexed yellow pages. The many pages on the net cannot possible charge for access.

4. Advertising is lost in a ten million channel universe.

5. There is no broadcast high speed bandwidth to allow multi community access to time channels.

6. Sound and video are not standardized.

7. The last mile is clogged and slow. Bell is trying to get a stranglehold with monitored and compromised PPOe. We need fibre and 5 megabit flat out access to the backbone from the household up, with pure TCP/IP access and some guaranteed throughput braodcast MBONE type access underneath as well, that is channeled and sold by the byte. This needs a new type of transmission control (BCP/IP) on these channels.

8. This (7.) should not be pre sold to the highest bidder but kept open for community access like the net is to a degree. The big boys already have cable and the airwaves. Poueur too thah peeple, rite awn.

9. HTML tools need to be upgraded and standardized to allow really good font access and control, so all web pages are readable in all browsers and word processing in HTML/SGML is possible so pages can be changed with direct connection with the internet site instead of going through ftp and remote editors. Java here
would boon a be.

10. Finally? information input should be simplified and the IBM Keyboard trashed so many people can input sound and letter easily without touch typing skills or threat of tarpal cunnel.

11. It would be good if HTML codes like,
<pre> worked too, in SI and there

was
an "escape" character </pre>

like \. which "literalizes" special characters which
normally signal the word processor to do something.
It can of course literalize itself too.
".\" really would be written \\. to turn
"it", (\), off. In my case I would enter it \\\. to
show the above, which would come out as this -- \\. ... if it worked in real life and in order to show this last format of three backslashes I would enter \\\\. But in order to enter that, I would enter \\\\\\. In
order to enter that I would enter \\\\\\\. I ...
(message shortened due to finity of time ...)

Text formatting was easier to do and
less
confusing under ROFF
.p was a paragraph
and
a . on the begginning of a line
ended entry. Like this
.
In addition there should
be
an embedded spel
chekur in
all
document processing
with a 1 million
word dicshunary. This is
not two hard too doo.

and the spel chekur wood allou one two spel chek ovur
the inturknet by thuh wurd, not jest preevyou.

How doo yew dooh this? Wel, I m glad yu asced. Yu wood
hav two use mabee java, or some form of html
by_the_word
form entry system in perl that put the words up
abck to your editor and mapped them to {suggested changes} that once resubitted
would have the {stuff in brackets} trashed.

Easy.
