There are a few aliases here I respect, a few I partly respect, and a significant bunch who neither deserve nor get my respect.

If the few I respect are concerned, I'm concerned. As to the others, I give their opinions about as much weight as I do, say, the beliefs of Al Qaeda terrorists. That is, the terrorists will always interpret everything America does, even when it is positive and altruistic, in the worst possible light. So with the carpers here; they will always look for the worst possible light to take everything I say in. It's a simple mathematical formula: I : America :: They : Al Queda.

I find it frankly amusing how hyper they all get, how frenetic in looking for the slightest slight. It's sometimes fun to toss out little gems just to watch the predictable reaction -- like tossing chum in shark infested waters and watching the blood lust frenzy.

I am surrounded day to day with the real problems of real people -- people undergoing divorces, suffering from domestic violence, trying desperately to adopt, trying to deal with a step-parent who is abusing their children, etc. -- that this is simply a relaxing respite. Watching all these purportedly intelligent people going running around pretending that the sky is falling is wonderfully amusing. They make so much of so little, when I have clients coping so wonderfully with real, legitimate, serious burdens. The contrast sometimes makes me chortle.
