Hi Lizzie, My take on it, is that companies MUST upgrade their systems over a period of time. This leads me to believe that companies like ORCL, CSCO (to name just 2) will benefit from these upgrades... It will take some time to show any increase in the stock price, but it will happen. Buy good companies when they are down (ORCL, CSCO etc...) Take a long term approach 5 to 10 years and then you will be re- warded. The "good old days" of a stock going up 200% in one day (CMGI is an example) and then continuing to go up either further are gone. IMHO, stocks like GE, DCN, AVP, D, TXN (which has shown a severe loss) and MO (I'm a smoker) and, (all of which pay dividends) are the ones to look for over the long run.
BTW, I own CSCO and ORCL - they are in my play around account.
Another BTW, The charts on CSCO and ORCL both indicate further downward movement!
