Australian company wants to brew alcoholic milk drinks
ananova.com

An Australian company is reported to be seeking permission to sell alcoholic milk drinks which are stronger than most beers.

Wicked Holdings from Victoria, wants to make strawberry, banana and chocolate flavoured drinks, with a 5.3% alcoholic content.

The Herald Sun newspaper says the company plans to sell it as Moo Joose.

Wicked Holdings is currently appealing a refusal from Liquor Licensing Victoria, which says the product will encourage alcohol misuse and abuse.

But a company spokeswoman says the drink has been extensively researched and met the standards of other ready-to-drink products.

However, Australian Drug Foundation spokesman Geoff Munro says the product is a nightmare that will put alcohol within the reach of every child in the state.

Wicked Holdings are to appeal Liquor Licensing Victoria's refusal in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
