RE: "...as long as you have the overwhelming force..." During the Cold War, Israel was the US's client and the Arab states, the Soviet Union's client. The US won and Israel's military superiority has increased beyond the levels of the Cold War days. Israel wll always have "overwhelming force" because of the nuclear factor. An Israel-Arab nuclear exchange in the Middle East kills up to ~6M Israelis and up to ~120M Arabs. The only solution depends on Arab credibility. The Arabs have the most to gain, the "land". They also seem to have a big problem changing their world view. I don't expect to be around when they start thinking "Israel" instead of "the Zionist Entity".
