Jack,

Thanks for the Denver Post story and the clarification of what happened. One or more 88 lb. mountain lions is a formidable adversary for any human, and especially a 10-year old. And to think the parents weren't far behind, and had to contend with such an encounter. That is really sad.

Here in Texas, just on my one little acre, there is plenty of potential trouble. Even in today's high-tech environment, it pays to carry a gun (we can legally do that now in Texas). It also pays to carry a healthy respect for the numerous critters found in nature. A computer and modem are worthless when facing a rattlesnake or mountain lion.
