Hi DJ, the current mild protectionism resulted from pressure and compromise. With a turned House, protectionism will be the primary impetus motivating representatives of the people. Long Beach Port is toast due to many containers requiring long look-see, only to see that the containers are empty, coming and going. Oops, I guess not, as there will be little need to move empty containers back and forth across the Pacific;0) But, not just yet, as there are still a few fiat dollars to be extracted from phantom house equity, directed by the FED to be used for buying another Mitsubishi at 0% financing and zero payments for 12 months, unless of course the cars are made locally, in which case the layoffs will start once the workers have fully extracted the equity they do not really have to buy the car they certainly do not need.
