the proof is from voting with one's feet
since 1980 metro Boston has increased its population from under 4 million to over 5 million now

meanwhile, Pitt has gone down sharply inside the city
and has no growth at all in the metro in 20 yrs
so the ghetto spreads internally, and suburbs grow

those studies are pure crapp, Tim

in my 1979 and 1980 graduating class at Carnegie Mellon Univ, out of about 15-17 people, only two remained in this area
one was dopey, the other had wife with nice job here
all others went to Boston, WashDC, NYCity, SFran, and various other nice areas

this is a ghetto
come visit the city sometime, and get out of the nice distant suburbs
try circling around the numerous ghettoed formerly decent neighborhoods

I know your argument against Boston and NewEngland
but for a 50-mile swatch radius around Boston, beyond the actual city, it is nice, wellkept, good schools, and hardly a ghetto to spot anywhere

this Pitt is an effing pit ghetto masquerading as a city
local property taxes are skyrocketing
just like Detroit
it is from FLIGHT
