Hi all; Department of Transportation says that as of March 2002 there was only five ships activated, and four of those were only participating in training exercises:
Dept. of Transp. Statement of William G. Schubert, Martime Admministrator ... ... At this time, there are four RRF ships participating in various military training exercises. We also have one of our RRF craneships in operational status deployed to actively support special logistics needs of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Just last week, DOD ordered the no-notice test activation of six RRF ships assigned readiness priorities of 4 or 5 days. No machinery or crewing problems were encountered, the turbo activations were successful; and all six ships conducted successful sea-trials. ... marad.dot.gov
Also see, as of March 2002:
Four RRF ships are currently activated with MSC's Prepositioning Program. Of the other 72 ships, all except 15 are out-ported at commercial or government piers, where they can be quickly activated in time of emergency. Cape Mohican is layberthed in Alameda, Calif., ready to activate on five days' notice. The other 15 ships are RRF-10 or -20 day ships and are located at one of the three NDRF fleet sites -- James River, Va., Reserve Fleet; Beaumont, Texas, Reserve Fleet; Suisun Bay, Calif., Reserve Fleet. msc.navy.mil
So maybe if I can find one of those highway cameras in the Beaumont Texas area, and it points at the dock where they keep the ready reserve fleet, CobaltBlue will believe that the nation is not already at war. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! LOL!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
