Remember that the Italian side of Alps, Galia Cisalpina ("Galia divisa est in partes tres" - not too bad out of memory, correcter "Galia est omnis divisa in partes tres") was the first to get the "caesarean section", before good ol' July decided to cross the Alps and beat the s*t out of Asterix & Co (and Raetians/Swiss on the way).
