I believe that the demand for H1B visa workers was more of a fiscal desire. I am guessing that there are a lot more tech workers out there who are willing to take a pay cut to get a job. I don't have a strong feeling about this. Believe it or not, I am more of an "open border" type of guy, but I suspect that this may become a hot button before too long as unemployment rates continue to rise.
