InfoSpace's Authorize.Net To Process Paid Content Transactions on NYTimes.com and Boston.com

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2002--Today at the Electronic Transactions Association 2002 Midyear Meeting & Expo in Seattle, InfoSpace, Inc. (Nasdaq:INSP - News), a provider of wireless and Internet software and application services, today announced that its Authorize.Net(TM) payment processing platform was selected by New York Times Digital, the digital business unit of The New York Times Company (NYSE:NYT - News), to facilitate the processing of certain credit card transactions online.

New York Times Digital's NYTimes.com, the No. 1 newspaper site on the Web, and Boston.com, the most visited regional portal in the country, are utilizing Authorize.Net to facilitate payments for select premium products. Authorize.net will process payments for archived articles, bundled premium packages and pay-per-view streaming content on NYTimes.com, and for Banker & Tradesman home sales reports available for purchase on Boston.com.

Authorize.Net payment solutions enable merchants to authorize, settle and manage credit card and electronic check transactions, 24 hours a day via Internet-enabled servers, personal computers, and mobile devices. The service, with more than 170,000 merchant account sign-ups, is offered through Authorize.Net's extensive network of more than 1,200 resellers as an IP-based payment platform to both financial institutions and merchant service providers, enabling them to offer payment services under their own brands.
