but word is the banks are, in effect, reducing liquidity in the face of the Fed's actions to the opposite lending end. Many are saying the loan institutions are adopting tight money policies, now, as the economy needs more lending and greater liquidity. Where were the tight credit standards - when they were really needed to prevent these problems?
