With the EDS warning tonight, IBM and the other big systems vendors will take a hit tommorrow. As tech spending continues to crumble, I'll be watching with interest to see how long Dell can hold up. Dell was a $16 stock after 9/11, and looking at Intel trading at $15, I'm wondering how long Dell can avoid becoming a teenager again. It's amazing how many techs are now single digit stocks. Very few major techs are even trading in the 20's anymore. With the changes in the market, I was thinking about the '10 most bookmarked posters on SI'. Folks like Paul Engel on the Intel thread, Ibexx, Greg Mullineaux(SP?), and a few others. From what I can tell, half of them don't even post anymore. So much for bullish 'gurus'... I also found my old May 11,1998 copy of Fortune, with the piece on the Dellheads. It mentioned Venkie, Steve Mach (LONGONDELL/LONGONFIBER/SECULARBULL) and others. Don't see them posting anymore either.
Regards, John
PS - And where's the venerable Jim Kelley??? I used to enjoy arguing with him. Are you still out there Jim? Or did you get into those cement stocks??? <ggg> |
