I don't see how the demise of JPM will wreck havoc. Nearly all of Japan's banks are insolvent. This is one bank with $10-share in cash on their balance sheet. Their derivative exposure is probably sufficiently hedged to protect at least a portion of that cash. Shareholders will probably all get screwed, and they should realize as much now.

The US will probably take JPM into federal hands like the S&L's to keep things from going into bedlam.

Sure, they're a behemoth, but I don't think it will cause a financial collapse or panic. It will hurt the BKX, that's for sure.
