Maurice,

What would a leg of lamb cost per pound or kilo at retail in Auckland? Or from the shepard direct out in the rural areas. My interest is in de-mythologizing globalization.

Here in Oregon, we usually are asked to pay ~USD 4.00/lb. in the market, and the lamb bought from local growers is a premium to that. Locals know they can charge a premium because of protective tariffs, AFAIK. I'm looking for confirmation.
