You and the letter "X" seem very confused as to what persona means! It isn't a matter of "confusion," Solon ... It is that our language is always evolving. It is a new phenomena that we are able to project a personality, day in and day out, through our written words on an Internet chat line. I can't speak for alias "X", but my view is that there is much uncertainty as to the correlation of one's Internet personality to the real world personality of the user who registered the alias with SI. It is a simple point, actually. It is a point open to differences of opinion. We need to stretch our language to accommodate the created or nurtured on-line personality ... whether we use "alias", "persona", or some other term. You expressed some good thoughts in your post as to how you see this issue. At this stage, our opinions differ.
