You may find that Sun's java runtime enviroment may load java slower than what Internet Explorer's virtual machine would. I would presume that you most likely downloaded JDK 1.41 version , I believe that's what it's called. If I remember correctly Internet Explorer's virtual machine is downloaded when you go to it's update page and do the critical update . Now that you have Sun's version you would have to go into it's options and unselect it use for IE 6.
