funny you found it sarcastic. It really isn't. I can provide you mls listings if you want.

there is substitute product for most things in life. examples, you can spend $150 on dinner for two in a upscale restaurant (which i did on my wife's birthday) or you can get the same meal for $35 at a family restaurant (which is typically our norm) or you can do-it-yourself for $10. similarly, you can buy a stearns and foster mattress for $2000 (which i did with much regret) or you get a sealy for $800 (which i should have done) or you get a no-name for $300 (if money is a big issue).

so you see, when you have to live in that $800k house. you just have to start cooking yourself and sleep on that no-name mattress.

the problem with metro Boston is that the whole place is not well planned. transpotation infrastructure is a shame comparing to Austin or Atlanta. the cities and towns are too proud of their conservation lands, low profile skyline, colonial houses and existing zoning laws to permit any new constructions. without affordable housings, Boston will never realize its full potential as an intellectual capital. people will come and go as the economy is going thru its cycle. as Boston is so scared of becoming a New York City or Chicago, sadly, it will never become it and forever remain a charming little town.
