Mark Augustine Joins CSFB to Lead Coverage of Biotechnology Sector


New York, July 3, 2002 - CSFB is pleased to announce that Mark Augustine has joined the U.S. Equity Research Department to cover the biotechnology sector. Mr. Augustine comes to CSFB from U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray where he had also covered the biotech industry. Prior to that, he covered the biotech industry for S.G. Cowen and also worked for two years at Canaan Partners, a venture capital firm. Mr. Augustine holds a B.A. from Yale and an M.B.A. from Harvard.

Joining Mr. Augustine's team from Piper Jaffray are Michele Park and Richard Troyer. Ms. Park joins the Firm as an Associate Analyst and holds a B.A. from Princeton and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Cornell. Mr. Troyer, a C.P.A, comes to CSFB as an Associate Analyst with a B.A. from Baylor as well as an M.B.A. from Wharton.

The team's initial focus will be to launch research coverage on the major therapeutic and product-oriented companies within the biotech sector, with further coverage enhancements likely to include selected genomics and life science tools companies.
