I doubt the assumed confidence of the short sellers. The new American past time is to short stocks in a down market. There are many amateurs participating like in the dot.com craze. They assume the short term trend is their friend.

P.S.- There are probably many short term traders both longs and shorts. Many traders following the short term trend and their charts.
