James I certainly don't know all of the history either of the 12 tribes. I have read some christian books concerning this and what they have to say is noteworthy, and some of it can be documented in the Word of God. I have not done my own complete study in this area and therefore I still have many questions and I too have some confusion and cannot even begin to grasp even all of the necessary questions that must be asked if I were to do a more complete study.
You asked, Are there only two remaining tribes?. ...NO... All of the tribes that were then are still with us today. This I know from the word of God.
One tribe thatwe know of for sure is the Tribe of Judah, the ID of the Tribe of Judah is world known, they are who the entire world recognizes as the Jew.
The House of Israel consist of 10 of the other tribes,the Tribe of Dan is not included within the House of Israel. They are also not listed in Rev.7 as on eof the tribes sealed, however, they will be united with the rest at some time we know this from Ez. 48 One of the Millenium Chapters.
It is no secret that God scattered these tribes and it is also no secret that He knows there ID and whereabouts, it is also no secret that He will Regather them. It is for this reason that I beleive that the blood-line cannot have been lost.....Only the tribes to their own ID.
In any case my friend if you are interested in further reading on this, Post #7791 will give you the name of a book and author you might be able to pick up, another book for some interesting reading is called Jacobs Pillar, not sure of the author at this time but I can get it for you if you like.Some of the info in that post came from that book.....interesting reading...Take it for what it is worth...
I will get back to you with some more on the House of Jacob And the House of Israel,I have to do more in-depth study from the word of God so as to have some more scriptures for you. But remember my friend, the house of Israel is made up of 10 tribes....and the House of Judah is what the world recognizes as the Jewish people.
