I think there may be opportunity for them to reduce hedges, if gold investment demand does not pick up. So far there are no signs that it is picking up, and gold jewelry and industrial demand is lower at current prices. In fact, there may very well be another trip to the lows for gold before this bigger bear market is over. All this depends on too many variables. Although I think a trip to the lows is unlikely.
