I am not sure what you are thinking of. There were, of course, some "exterminationists" hanging around, but they did not prevail. Instead, the reservation system was developed. Now, if you say we treated them shabbily, and that it was all the easier because we perceived them as savages, that is pretty much true. But it is not the same as an ideological commitment to genocide.......
