Foxlette, I couldn't agree more that actions speak louder than words. But I am moved to ask you this: Given that what we see here (on SI) are only words, and those words are written by an alias, do those word speak at all? If they do speak, do they speak much less than actions? I ask you this in the context of the controversy that has existed here for many months about whether persons on SI can suffer injury from words. Is the writing of words an "action"? Can it be so regarded? If it can be ... then how do we make the distinction between "words" and "actions" that we started with in your post? When, and under what circumstances, do words written here become "actions"? I believe these questions are important. In the 3-d world, we are capable of words, spoken or written, but we are also capable of actions in the physical sense. Thus the distinction between words and actions is clear. But on SI we are not capable of actions in the physical sense. So the distinction is less clear, if it exists at all. Can you provide an example of an "action" on an SI message board? Any thoughts?
