Commander - The OEMs also moved some Liabilites off - like huge numbers of employees, potential workmens' comp, unemploymnet, etc. - also much of the potetnial environmental liability. (although most plants were pretty clean, and the EMS did to dilignece on the environmental issues)

Now the OEM's can play the EMSes off against each other - just like the oil majors do with the drillers when times are slow.
