I received a call from Mike at AMD investor relations today. He apologized for the failure to respond to my email messages; evidently my subject line tickled some junk-mail reduction heuristic and deposited my messages in a folder where they wouldn't be seen by human eyes. We had a pleasant conversation about the preparations for rolling out hammer products, and he made note of my suggestion to keep the *BSD and open source database groups in the loop. So, I rescind my preceding complaints; it was just an unfortunate fluke. Mike recommends that shareholder inquiry messages should have something like "shareholder inquiry" in the subject line.
