Jim- Early (128MB or even 64MB chips) Micron/Crucial PC2100 could make 166MHz CAS2 with 2.75v VI/O. The latest Crucial PC2100 with 256mb chips is terrible and is maxed out at 142MHz.

The Part number for 128MB is M368L1713CTL-CBO . The CTL code means that this is Samsung chips on a Samsung board. The very best. 172/344MHz easy at default 2.5v. Cas 2.5-3-3 but still very high scoring on Sandra.

The part for 256MB is M381L3223CTL-CB0

If you every come across M381L3223CTL-CB2 that's Samsung PC2700 chips on a Samsung board and will do 215/430MHz easily.

Did you write down the XP 1600+ numbers before you installed it?
