OK, Al, I see where the story is coming from.
And yes, the destiny of the white man, and particularly the Afrikaner, in SA is very controversial.
There are those who believe, and not without justification, that the white man has no future in Africa --- period. Indeed, there has been major emigration of whites from Africa, including SA, for the past 50 years. And, it continues.
There are others, like myself, who are prepared to take their chances in the knowledge that there is no Utopia anywhere. In fact, for a large number of whites, including myself, the standard of living which we still enjoy, notwithstanding the incompetent, corrupt, black, ANC, socialist government, is still higher than we could enjoy anywhere else. Of course, one has to use one's brains and life is certainly not as easy as it was.
Then there are certain Afrikaners who, like certain Jews, the KKK and other bigots, believe God gave them land, rights, exclusivity, a white skin, whatever and they are prepared to fight anyone and everyone to secure that land and those exclusive rights. These are are very much in the minority but, apparently, are still making mischief.

In my opinion, in view of AIDS etc, if there is to be a "future" in SA it will be in the hands of the Asians --- Indians, Chinese etc who are coming into Africa all the time. Frankly, I don't believe that black Africans can, on their own, run a modern, democratic state and, increasingly, I see (or possibly wish) that they will become redundant.
