PS The Saudis are rumored to have withdrawn $700 billion in assets from US markets since 9/11/01.

That's hard to believe. 3/4 of a trillion dollars exiting the US would surely have generated some press and left large footprints in the economy. Do you have any links that refer to this rumour?
