Steven Den Beste tries to figure out what, exactly, the left is arguing for, as the arguments make so little sense on a mechanistic or diplomatic level. How's he do?:

One of the basic argument mistakes that even sophomores are taught to avoid is conflation, putting two things together that don't belong together. International Court issues are separate from environmental issues are separate from invading Iraq are separate from.

Perhaps the reason so many who write on the right think there is one enveloping ideology on the left which propels everything is that they think that is the way political thinking should proceed.

What is that Bill says, he won't say the left is dumb if the left won't say the right is evil. Well, assuming Den Beste considers he is writing from the right, he's making a seriously strong case for some sort of brain cell shortage on his own part.
