Please do some more research. Energy trading itself represents a very small portion of Duke. Earnings in excess still of $2. Dividend is only $1.10, a 50% payout ratio. Often utilities have payout ratios above 70 and 80%. Duke produces its on power, resells its excess, owns interest in countless acres of lakefront property. Valuation is $17 Billion currently. For one of the leading and most widely respected utilities.
