CPI Aerostructures Announces $2.0 Million Military Contract Award; 2002 Awards Already Equal 2001 Award Total

EDGEWOOD, N.Y., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CPI Aerostructures, Inc. (Amex: CVU - News) announced today that is has been awarded a $2.0 million contract to provide the U.S. Government with fourteen engine nose cowling assemblies for its E-3A Airborne Early Warning aircraft. The E-3A is used primarily by the United States and NATO to detect impending danger and perform electronic jamming functions.

"This award comes on the heels of another large award, and further illustrates CPI's capability as an assembler of structural aircraft parts for the U.S. Government," stated CPI's President, Edward J. Fred. "As with the award announced last week for C-5 wing tip box assemblies, this contract represents another follow-on award to a program previously awarded to the Company. With the addition of this award, CPI has now reached $19 million in new contract awards for 2002, equaling our total for all of last year," concluded Mr. Fred.
