There are many claims of breakthrough batteries that never make it into production for various reasons. So far NiMH batteries have PROVEN themselves as being safe, environmentally friendly, long lasting, and having the best power characteristics. They are the battery of choice for those building hybrid cars. Until they see a reason to change, I will stay with Ovshinsky developed NiMH.
