Grace,

I guess my answer to your question is yes--but let me try to do better with it. Yes, I believe that most relgions have similar truths in them and that there are many prophets, all mortals however. I also think that most religion is a reflection of our own consciousness and there is a really interesting book that takes that idea further The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes. I am pantheistic in a pretty abstract way--that there is a little bit of God in everything. I don't believe that there is anyone minding the universe per se; if so they have let a lot of horrible things happen to us--so I'm led to something more detached and abstract. Probably a reflection of my own disposition.

The issues with the third world will hopefully work themselves out--they will do what they have to do. Of course, if low-tech agrarian life were really that fufilling, why would they seek to emulate the developed world. I don't feel that the first world is necessarily to blame for the problems of the third world. I know that it isn't quite that simple.

Frank Lloyd Wright's homes were kind of Art Deco and why I don't like Art Deco was going to be the subject of my little angst-fest. I relate to Art Deco in the way you describe his houses. You can see that I really can't help myself and will just blurt it out here sometime.

NANO has a very specialized technology niche. It is a micro cap company and strangely enough has a low p/e as well. It just had a little run up and is quite volatile within a $5-10 range. From overnight futures trading, it looks like the technology stocks are going down big-time tomorrow. Perhaps it's not a good time to be buying--we'll see. Be happy to chat more about NANO.
