Teddy Roosevelt's "speak softly but carry a big stick" definitely came across, when I read the document. There's nothing soft however in the Strategy, and the stick definitely looms big. Nearly neandertal size. Was the document quo ante West Point? Was WP some sort of Damascus journey for the President? I guess it's been a process, starting (or surfacing) 09/11 I hope at least Americans can now sleep better. And some other - al Quaeda to name explicitely - will get sleepless because of it.
