Hey, finally some intelligent doubts on Iraq.

Murtha says a key reason for questioning a second Iraq war is strategic. He's worried that it would cost the United States not only money and lives, but also important allies. By moving without international support, Bush could alienate Arab allies, and ''we could lose access to the intelligence we need to fight the war on terrorism.''

Good argument, but do the facts support it? Trouble is, we do not have enough knowledge to answer this, because diplomatic pronouncements shed no light on it one way or the other (to believe otherwise is naive), and Murtha does not produce any evidence. One might also point out that we hardly seemed to reap much gratitude from those whose butts we saved in the Gulf War.
