When Nuko joined up with Cisco, they made it look like their alliance
was uniquie. It turned out that Nuko was only one of the many alternative available to Cisco customers. Why would a customer buy Nuko's codecs when they can buy from an established firm that can
provide guranteed service and also gurantee that they will be around to provide that service. The only way that would happen is if Nuko's
products were far superior and offered a clear competitive advantage
to the customer. I use to believe this was the case. It is now clear
that several established corps are now offering at least equivalent
products. What does the customer now have to gain by buying a product
from an upstart. If Nuko can offer a far superior product at a reasonable price, they may still pull it off. Remember, I have been wrong many times in the past when talking about the future prospects of small companies.
